About the Author:

Jaco Jacobs is one of South Africa’s most beloved and prolific children's and young adult authors.

Born in 1980 in Carnarvon in the Northern Cape, Jacobs writes primarily in Afrikaans and has published more than 170 books, including novels, poetry, and short stories.

His work is known for its humor, heart, and ability to connect with young readers. Some of his most popular books include Suig! and ’n Goeie dag vir boomklim (A Good Day for Climbing Trees), which has been translated into multiple languages and adapted into a stage play. In addition to writing, Jacobs is also an editor and translator.

He has played a major role in promoting Afrikaans literature for young people and continues to inspire a love of reading across South Africa and beyond.
